A Lifetime Firefighter Award was presented to volunteer firefighter Carleen VanDerostyne May 21, 2022, at the Washington State Fire Fighters' Association Annual Fire School awards banquet in Wenatchee, Washington. Carleen is often first on scene, quickly assessing and administering skillful assistance as an Advanced EMT and an SCBA trained structural firefighter. Her dedication to Newman Lake Fire & Rescue and the community we serve has been consistently outstanding for over twenty years. She has regularly responded on an average of 80-90% of the yearly calls for help. This award was a wonderful way to acknowledge Carleen for her many contributions to NLFR and the community!
